Policies/FAQ:
What you need to know
and how to find out
Communication
I work for myself without anyone to answer the phones when I am in session. So with all calls, texts or email, I will get back to you as soon as I can. I will answer all calls or email within 24 hours during the work week, if not sooner. Over the weekend, I try to answer communications, but most likely I will get back to you Monday morning. So if you have any pressing questions or concerns, let me know in your communication. Otherwise I have online booking to make it easier to book or rebook so as to make it easier for both of us.
Do I need to take all my clothes off during the session?
No. I ask that each client stay at their individual comfort level. Depending on the type off work and your comfort level I can work with the client fully clothed or with minimal to no clothing.
For Massage and bodywork I usually ask clients to wear athletic stretchy shorts (hot yoga shorts, running shorts, bathing suit/bikini bottoms, etc.). For women I ask for halter tops , bikini swimsuit tops or non bulky sports bra. I am respectful of what is comfortable for you and can work with sheet and blanket as well. Having no sheets and blankets to work with allows me to have a more detailed structural assessment of your body and for me to move you around and assess the changes or progress during the session without worrying about coverage.
For more energetic work Like EQH and Chi Nei Tsang I suggest comfortable, breathable clothing.
EQH can be done fully clothed, so it is optimal to wear loose fitting comfortable clothes. It it is best not to wear a skirt or a dress.
For private Tai Ji or Qi Gong sessions it is best to wear loose fitting comfortable clothes, with some minimal or barefoot shoes.
For private yoga sessions, athletic shorts, a sports bras, tank top or t-shirt is recommended. Bring a yoga mat if you have one, otherwise one will be provided for you.
Cancellations and No show policies
I ask that all cancellations or changes to an appointment be made at least 24 hours before the appointment. All cancelations or no shows within that 24 hours will be charged 100% of services. I understand things come up, so again, just communicate what is happening so we can find a solution together.
Can I speak up during a session if something is uncomfortable?
Please do. I encourage anyone I am working with to be in communication with what will make their session more comfortable. if the pressure or depth of a technique is too much, let me know. If you are having a hard time understanding a move I am trying to show you, let me know. I try to stay keenly aware of any shifts in what is happening within a client's body or in how someone is understanding the information I am sharing, but I can't always know everything. You are a co creator in this work. So, even if it is too hot or too cold, you don't like the music being played or I am asking you to do something you are not comfortable with, I encourage you to tell me. Let me know when something needs to be said, whether something needs to shift, has shifted or you just want to share. I am here to make our sessions together something extraordinary. We can make it work together.
Why can't I schedule a private Tai Ji session or Yi Jing session online?
I have the space to practice Qi Gong and Yoga in my office, but with Tai Ji I like to practice outside. It is traditionally practiced outside so you can connect with the energy of surrounding nature. I also find it to be more enjoyable for myself and who I am working with. I schedule these sessions outside of my bodywork times because I have to travel away from my office and it can makes online scheduling complicated. It is best to call or email me to figure out an optimal location and time for these sessions.
For an Yi Jing consultation, I like to talk with you first before I set up an appointment so I can get some information from you. I then need time to assemble the information so I can present it and discuss it with you in person.
